Denim is the look for this summer. Okay, but how about denim all over, from your clothes to your accessories. Denim all over,  in  all kinds of blues. As long as you wear denim, you’re good to go!  Oh, and two tones of blues would just be the best way to go too!

Neutral colors that don’t leave me feeling neutral!

The neutral trend is back again this year! I believe it was already one of the spring trends last year and I really like that it’s back. One good reason is that I just have to pull out the neutral stuff I bougt last year and I also like the very chic impression it gives! My favorite neutral accessory are the shoes since they tend to elongate your legs. Now, check this pair of “Pour la Victoire” with its beautiful cutouts. Isn’t it a very femnine and delicate pair? I only wish I could walk in such high heels all day without fearing to trip over on the playground while running after my kiddos;-)

It’s already blooming on accessories!

Are you enjoying the last days of winter or dreaming about colorful gardens blooming? I am seeing blooms on accessories and loving it! Not only because spring is around the corner and  it’s beautiful; it’s alos because I’m from Tahiti and when I think about my island I think about the ocean and  flowers.

How feminine and delicate these accessories are?

Cold winter and its dark colors are about to know their last days…Spring is just around the corner with its flowers and colors! I’m so ready for a pop of color! Are you feeling the same way? I think  that colorful accessories really give a kick to any outfit but maybe that’s because  I love accessories and particularly handbags. The first thing that I notice on a lady walking by will be her handbag and that handbag does not have to be a Louis Vuitton or a Tod’s. As long as the handbag has a beautiful color or a great design, the brand name does not matter.

Look at Leighton Meester yellow neon bag and shoes! Not to mention her green coat! I would have never dared matching these two colors…yet, the result is gorgeous: very colorful, elegant and fun!

Stripes are one of the fashion must-haves for this summer: from tees to shoes! What is interesting is to see how they are displayed and how they can give a modern update to any outfit. My favourite would be the one by Stella McCartney as it combines flowers and stripes.

Is there some python in your closet?

Let me tell you: like many of us out there, we do not want to get close to a python – Yes, we all agree on this. However, a little python on my accessories wouldn’t hurt me. I was reading the French VOGUE magazine today and was suprised to notice how many bags and other accessories are adorning this exotic touch. No wonder I’ve found a few items reflecting this trend lately in stores. Yet, the ones I found were much cheaper than what we can see in VOGUE since they’re only “ python-embossed”!  Remember when we used to call this “snake skin” instead of “python”? I guess “python” sounds better! =)

JP Gaultier is coming to town!

People Style Watch

People Style Watch

I had to wait to come all the way to the U.S. to maybe own a JP Gaultier dress! As a teenager, I used to live in France and I always wanted to own one of JP Gaultier’s “mariniere” also called the striped shirt in English…but it was way too expensive for me. Who better than JP Gaultier as a French designer, could design a line for Target at an affordable price? No one or maybe Jean-Charles de Castelbaljac. Anyway, I can’t wait to see the clothes in stores the first week of March! In the meantime, to keep us patient, the look book has been released. After reading a few blogs and articles about the line, it seems like some people are already disappointed. They think that the creations are boring and not so wearable and what may make them change their mind is the qaulity of the fabric. So…let’s wait and see March 7!  As for myself, I already have my eye on a few items so hopefully, they will be worth the price: the leather jackets and the trench coat. One bummer though: no “mariniere”! There’s a striped shirt indeed but not quite  like the one that I dreamed of as a teenager.

Let’s study the studs style!

New York and Company

New York and Company

Green stud cross bodyYellow stud bagStud shirtGold stud shirtWe’ve seen studs (and other eyelets and other fun accents)  all fall and winter long and it seems like it will stick this spring and summer too (check these cute leather bags in flashy colors)! Personnally, I first thought that this style was too 80s and too Rock n’ Roll but after a few months and seeing it on so many clothes and accessories, I am starting to like them! They add an edgy and original touch to a plain shirt or a plain bag. They do catch your eyes!

Here is what my eyes saw:

Did you say French Tees? Oui Oui!

French tee1Lately, I’ve seen quite a fee  tees with French expressions being sold and I was wondering why…Well, I guess it’s obvious. French sounds romantic, French sounds good! Okay, I can understand that but how does it translate into fashion and especially on tees? Very chic I guess even though not everybody understands what’s written on your tee…

Well, I’ll let you decide!
